About QR Code Generator

QR (Quick Response) codes are two-dimensional barcodes that can encode text, URLs, contact information, and more. They were invented by Denso Wave in 1994 and are now ubiquitous for mobile payments, product tracking, and contactless information sharing. A QR code consists of black and white squares arranged on a grid, with built-in error correction that allows codes to be read even when partially damaged (up to 30% with the highest error correction level). This generator creates QR codes entirely in your browser -- no data is sent to any server. You can customize error correction level and download the generated code as a PNG image.

Common Pitfalls & Edge Cases

⚠QR codes have a maximum capacity: ~4,296 alphanumeric characters or ~2,953 bytes in binary mode.
⚠Higher error correction (H=30%) makes codes more scannable but increases density/size.
⚠Very long URLs should be shortened first — dense QR codes are harder for cameras to read.
⚠When scanning unknown QR codes, always check the decoded URL before visiting it (phishing risk).

🔒 Data Privacy

QR generation and scanning are performed entirely in your browser using canvas APIs and jsQR. Images are processed locally and never uploaded.
